Review Mielle Organics Babassu Oil Mint Deep Conditioner

Review Mielle Organics Babassu Oil Mint Deep Conditioner

Every time I go to Target no matter what I am there for I must go the to natural hair care aisle (and makeup aisle too)  Its great to see so many new  natural  hair care lines most of which could only be purchased online. Early on my natural hair journey I tried any and everything. Now that I know what my hair likes; I kind of stick to what works for me. Every now and then I come across something that looks promising. Let me tell you a little about my hair; its  thick, kind of coarse, coily, kinky and curly with pretty normal porosity.

If I am going to try a new product it will usually be a deep conditioner or a leave in conditioner. Mielle Organics Babassu Oil Mint Deep Conditioner (why must the names of these products be so long) looked promising;  it has pretty good ingredients and a great price point $14.99.  I was a little hesitant  since its marketed as a protein/moisture replenisher. Most conditioners with protein don’t offer much moisture. My favorite protein conditioner is Curl Junkie Repair Me (strengthening and very moisturizing). Conditioners with protein usually leave my hair dry and in desperate need of moisture. Mielle Organics DC has a minty scent, a smooth not too thick consistency that glided easily over my strands, it offered a lot of slip, since it spread so nicely I didn’t have to use a lot. I have used this DC 3 or 4 times and I have enough for maybe one more application. I apply it to freshly washed hair in sections, I twist each section after applying the DC, put on a conditioning cap, and my Hair Therapy Wrap (microwavable wrap that adds heat to your DC) I leave the DC on for twenty minutes then rinse and style. I really like this DC. It has great slip, left my hair shiny, moisturized, soft and my curls were clumped and popping. I would defeintly repurchase. I love the convenience of picking it up at my local Target.  I am intrigued now and want to try more Mielle Organics products. What is your favorite Deep Conditioner?

I’ve tried so many natural hair products as well. My hair does really well with Shea Moisture, I love all of their products. I’ve been using Alikaynaturals and I really like their products but I’ve notice my hair at the crown of my head has breakage and I believe it’s because I was using their essential oil. I was massaging it in that area and I believe it was too much stress on the area. I’ve been natural for sooooooo many years so I’ve tried a lot of products but Shea Moisture is the best so far. Great article Niecy!

I like a lot of Shea Moisture’s deep conditioners their product line has grown so much its hard to keep up! I have used Alikay naturals deep conditioner the brown one (can’t think of the name lol) smells really good and very moisturizing but the Mielle I liked a lot better. I bought them at the same time from Target. I am so glad you enjoyed the post. Thank you for being so engaging.

Did you find the Mielle conditioner is like she’s moisture? ( all of the shea moisture products I’ve tried do not work well at all for my hair- it gets tangled and feels chalky and I’ve tried at least 7 different types) . Running to target today

Hi Kristin, for me Mielle works a lot better than the most of the Shea Moisture deep conditioners I have used (there are only two that work for me from their line. I have also discovered another one from a different line also from Target (post coming soon need to keep testing it out). I love buying things from Target because you can return them if they don’t work for you.

Yep you can take it back even if you’ve used it if you don’t like the product they will give you a refund.
