Review Sunday Riley Good Genes

Review Sunday Riley Good Genes

I have wanted to try the Sunday Riley skin care line for years, I especially was interested in the Good Genes ( has lactic acid) and the Luna Sleeping Oil (has retinol)  but the price ($108 for the smaller size)  kept me from trying it.  Last year during the VIB sale at Sephora I bought the trial size that came with Sunday Riley’s LUNA Sleeping Night Oil (also amazing).

I use Good Genes at night on freshly cleansed skin. The Luna Sleeping Oil goes on first and I let it seep into my skin for about 5 minutes and then I apply 1 pump of the Good Genes all over my face and neck (I use it as a serum).  My final step is to add a night time moisturizer.

I saw an immediate difference in my skin literally over night. My skin looked brighter the next day. With continued use my skin was plumper, the hyper pigmentation around my mouth and chin were beginning to fade, my skin looked more even and my fine lines weren’t as pronounced. The combination of Good Genes and the Luna oil seemed to balance my skin as well. (I have combination oily skin) I have tried other things that were less expensive but there was no comparison.  I kept going back to  Good Genes.  As my skin is maturing I have found that using good quality skin care has  made a huge difference in the appearance and texture of my skin. What are your favorite skin care products? Do you splurge on your skin care? Do you do a mixture of high  end and drug store products  (that’s what I normally do)?

Wow. I’ve never heard of this product. I’ll have to check it out. I’ve always used Cetaphil moisturizer which I love. It’s the only thing so far that has worked for me. Thanks for the info!

Their products are amazing! I have always taken good care of my skin but didn’t start using serums and night creams, eye creams etc until just a few years ago. I see a huge difference in my skin.

thanks for this review! I may have to try INVESTING ( lol) in this line. I have tried both high and low end on my combination skin which is also very sensitive. Most products leave my skin dry. I’ve tried proactive- worked well through my teens and twenties
Ambi- mom sweared by it- was amazing on her oily skin (absolutely wonderful)
Urban skin rx -this is still up for review . Since I am nursing I can not use the toner ( as adviced on the website) , so I am unsure if that will make a big difference .so far I have not been impressed . My skin has been dry and “weird”.

The product I have really liked is
NERD super hydrating mask . I had a sample in a birch box and liked it so much that I purchased from the website. It is super creamy and left my skin feeling hydrated and moisturized.
On the hunt for something that I can use on a regular basis for cleansing and moisturizing .

Thanks for your comment Kristin and your recommendations I will have to do some research on the products you mentioned. Skin care is by far my favorite thing as I get older you can see results if you find the right regimen that works for you, using the products consistently, and using products for your skin type.

hi Karen! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog! A few years back I started using Beautycounter – not as pricey as Sunday Riley but super effective! They have amazing Face Oils and light weight serum, Nourishing night cream and an exfoliator I’m obsessed with! I have dry skin in winter and not so dry in summer (thanks to DC weather)!! And the hot thing right now is charcoal! Have you tried it yet????I’d love to get you some samples!
